Highworth Artists' Society

Our Demonstrations, Exhibitions, Workshops and Meetings are held in the Community Room, Council Offices, 3 Gilbert’s Lane, Highworth, Swindon, Wilts. SN6 7FB.

Workshops for members are held each Tuesday with 2 sessions – one in the morning from 10am to 12.30pm and then in the afternoon from 12.30pm to 3pm. Each session costs £3. Associate members are invited to come along during the afternoon sessions.

15 Jan 2025 to 26 Mar 2025 – Watercolour Essentials Class (details here)
This course is now fully booked but you can go onto a waiting list. Tutor Hilary Sinclair. Dates of classes are: 15 Jan, 29 Jan, 12 Feb, 26 Feb, 12 Mar and 26 Mar.

11 Mar 2025 - Tuesday afternoon Help Sessions - Members Only
Help is given to members who need advice when using a new medium. Other session dates available for booking are: 22 April and 3 June 2025

31 Mar 2025 – Coach Trip to London – £26
The coach will pick up at Brewery Street Car Park, Highworth leaving at 8.45am and Covingham Square, Swindon leaving at 9.00am.  The coach will leave London at 4pm.  Our trip coincides with the annual exhibition of the Royal Institute of Painters in
Watercolour at The Mall Galleries from 26 Mar to 5 Apr 2025.  Entry fee: £6 (not included in the trip price).  Email us via our contact page if you would like to join us.
 
18 Mar 2025 - Figure Drawing Session - 10am to 12noon - Members only
This is a figure drawing session for members who will have the chance to draw one/two people dressed as medieval longbow archers.
 
3 to 10 May 2025 - Spring Exhibition – 10am to 4pm each day – Admission Free
We will be open from 10am onwards on Sat, 3 May. The Mayor of Highworth, Cllr Julie Murphy will officially open the exhibition at approximately 11am. She will choose her favourite painting and award a trophy if the artist is present. Visitors on Sat and throughout the week will also be invited to vote for their own favourite painting - the winner will be awarded a prize when the exhibition has ended.
Refreshments will be served with donations going to the Highworth Forget Me Not Café – our charity for 2025. Please come along to see our new paintings – most will be for sale. Greeting cards will also be available.
