Artists Presentation to Highworth Town Council
Anne Lynch and her painting of Donegal was voted the favourite painting of the week by visitors.
Highworth Artists Society is celebrating 50 years of activities in the town and recently made a presentation of a large collage painting to Highworth Town Council. At the ceremony in the Council Offices the Mayor Cllr Mrs Julia Bishop received the painting from Wendy Fouracre – Chairperson of HAS. Others present were Cllrs Julie Murphy, Keith Smith and Lyn Vardy with Town Clerk David Lane together with Pam Hague- Secretary of HAS.

The photo shows the presentation that took place on Tuesday 3rd March during HAS weekly “paint-in” in the Community Room at the Council Offices.
The painting - created from the work of 16 current members, will hang in the Council Chamber alongside other artwork by early members of the society and other Highworthians.

The Mayor of Highworth Councillor (Ms) Julie Murphy presenting the Bill Bartrop Trophy to Christine Purdy. Christine’s painting “Country Lane Cottage (2)” was the Mayor’s favourite painting at our Autumn Exhibition Preview Evening on 7 Oct 2022.
Rachael Laing-Smith, the Editor of the Highworth Link, presented the Spring Rose Bowl to Sarah March. Sarah’s lino print ‘Nestled in the Corners of Time’ was Rachael’s favourite painting in the exhibition.
Autumn Exhibition 2023:
Neil George, Chair of Highworth Camera Club, presented the Bill Bartrop Trophy to Valerie Cosway for her painting ‘Moonlight in the Forest’. Neil chose her painting as his favourite at the preview night.
Spring Exhibition 2024:
The Mayor, Cllr Keith Smith is showing his favourite painting ‘Cornish Coast’ by Sandra Palmer. Our Chairperson Lyn Armstrong is holding the spring rose bowl trophy which will be presented to Sandra at a later stage
